Heating and sanitary hot/cold water user consumption metering module

USER MODULE

The alternative of the autonomous system is a centralized system with individual heat metering and autonomous temperatures regulation. This system combines the advantages of the centralized system with those of the individual system thanks to individual meters, each one paying its heat that it has really consumed.

Also for this reason, the DPR n. 59 of 2nd April 2009 established that in all existing buildings with a minimum of four residential units, heat accounting must be carried out also during the restructuring of the central heating system.

The direct accounting offered by NOVACdC groups is precise and reliable. NOVACdC groups are applicable to those types of systems in which the flow rate of the heat transfer fluid passing through the radiators of the apartment has a single point of detachment from the main distribution system.

This allow you to measure the total flow rate of the heat transfer fluid that passes through the apartment and the respective return temperatures.

From these measurements it is possible to trace directly the amount of heat that the heat transfer fluid has left in the apartment.

The NOVACdC product range also offers the possibility of applying sanitary water accounting. In the new centralized systems, where the production of sanitary water also takes place with renewable energy sources, NOVACdC applies perfectly.

THE PRODUCT

The NOVACdC 11000 module is able to manage the two-way (Mod. 11100) or the three-way (Mod. 11110) heating circuit. The heating and sanitary hot/cold water user consumption can be metered.

The NOVACdC 11000 module allows thermal autonomy and the consequent metering of direct consumption.

The basic functions are:

- ON/OFF regulation with 2 or 3-way zone valve;

- shut-off ball valves on all circuits;

- flow rate regulation in the heating circuit;

- strainer in the heating circuit supply.

The optional functions are:

- heat metering (heat meter);

- volumetric meters for sanitary hot/cold water.

The accounting of the consumptions inside the box takes place through the counters: the module is supplied as standard without meters. On request, heat meter and domestic hot/cold water meter can be supplied as optional. In this way the customer can choose what type of meters to use based on specific needs.

The module can be mounted in a horizontal or vertical position, offers high hydraulic performance and adapts to different plant solutions, offering modularity in the assembly, in the available configurations and in different sizes.

The functioning and the method of installation of this thermoregulation and accounting system may vary based on some variable factors, such as the size of the building, the characteristics of the heating plant and the type of distribution system.

The NOVACdC 11000 module presents a 3/4" F connections for heating circuit and a 3/4" F connections for sanitary circuit.

This module looks like a preassembled box able to optimize the required functions and minimize the necessary masonry work.

OPTIONAL - USER CONSUMPTION METERING

NOVACdC modules are enabled for the accounting of heat and sanitary hot/cold water user consumption. The modules are supplied without user counters; in their place a meter template spacer is mounted (the size of the spacer is in line with the standard dimensions of the meters on the market). The customer can then choose which counter to insert on each branch of the circuit, based on their specific technical and commercial needs.

From a technical point of view, for the calculation of pressure drops, each counter adds a pressure drop in the circuit in which it is inserted: therefore, once the project flow rate has been determined, the relative pressure drops are read from the previous graphics (referring to the NOVACdC module without meters), to which the pressure drops due to the meter(s) will then be added (these data are supplied by the meter manufacturer).

Novasfer offers as optional heat and sanitary hot/cold water meters.

For example, in the picture below, in the NOVACdC 11110 module, an example of a module complete with meters supplied by Ista is shown. Possibility of use in heating, district heating and cooling systems that are also suitable for installation in small spaces. The counters allow to distribute the heating costs correctly.

All ultrasonic meters meet the requirements of the EN1434 standard, moreover they are homologated according to the MID directive (European Directive 2004/22/CE implemented by Legislative Decree 2nd  February 2007, n. 22).

Ista offers a wide range of meters; for all technical data and pressure drops curves, refer to their website https://www.ista.com/it/.

If necessary, contact the Novasfer technical department for special requests or to choose the most suitable counter for the specific application.
