HIU – HEAT INTERFACE UNIT

The HIUs (Heat Interface Units) are thermohydraulic user satellites that allow for the independent management of the heating system and the production of domestic hot water for users in centralized heating systems.
They are typically installed in residential complexes with multiple units, where it is necessary to utilize the thermal power made available by a common heating plant.
Heating is managed and delivered to individual apartments through a connection between the building’s thermal plant and the individual dwellings, which are independently controlled by the HIU module.

The NOVAHIU V1 module, in addition to being differentiated by product size (16 kW, 22 kW, and 32 kW), is also available in Basic and Premium versions. In the Premium version (compared to the Basic version), a PV valve is added to control the differential pressure on the primary circuit, as well as a thermostatic valve for temperature control on the supply circuit to the apartment’s heating.

Description

The NOVAHIU V1 module is designed as a thermohydraulic user satellite for heating, to be used in residential complexes where a centralized heating plant is present. The modules allow users to connect to and access centralized heating instantly and reliably throughout the day.

Thanks to these modules, the heat transfer fluid is evenly distributed from the building’s thermal plant directly to each apartment based on the needs. In this way, the water heating is efficiently and reliably controlled.

The NOVAHIU V1 modules have the following functions:

– Heating zone management
– Preparation for billing
– Safety functions

The module is supplied as standard with a Grundfos UPM3 Hybrid circulator, ErP-Ready.

The NOVAHIU V1 module acts as a bridge between the heating plant and the individual heating systems of each dwelling. Domestic hot water production is not provided. The plate heat exchanger ensures the separation between the primary and secondary circuits.
